e-source 4 - Proclamation by King James, 1603

This proclamation was issued by King James to make provision for his journey south into England. James spent a month travelling south so that formal mourning for Elizabeth was over before he reached London. Many people turned out to see him during his journey. The document is an early example of a printed proclamation of the King's instructions to those in charge of the places he would pass through on the journey to his coronation.
